Fieldsets

Fieldsets are pre-packaged AI capabilities that run on top of the governance layer you've already set up. Enable one and it's wired into your integrations, permissions, and approval workflows automatically — no engineering, no separate credentials.

What a fieldset is

A fieldset is a turnkey, opinionated workflow — something like product optimization or cash flow forecasting — that drops onto On Belay's foundation. It uses your connected integrations through the same proxy as everything else, so credentials stay server-side and every action is scoped to a group and recorded in your audit log.

Where a custom agent is something you build, a fieldset is something we build and you switch on. You manage fieldsets at Dashboard → Fieldsets. Enabling is admin-only.

Enabling a fieldset

  1. Requirement check. A few fieldsets declare a specific integration they need before you can enable them — Merchandising and the AI Visibility Engine need Shopify, and the Advertising Agent needs Shopify plus Slack. If one of those is required and isn't connected yet, On Belay tells you which one to connect first. Most fieldsets don't block enabling on a specific integration, though they still need the relevant data connected to produce useful output.
  2. Consent. A consent step explains what the fieldset will access and do on your behalf. You confirm before anything turns on.
  3. Enable and seed. On Belay activates the fieldset for your org and seeds its default settings. For the fieldsets that use editable prompts — like Merchandising — it also seeds proven default prompts you can edit.
  4. Fieldset page. You land on the fieldset's own dashboard, where you configure it, run it, and review its output.

Disabling a fieldset

Disabling deactivates the fieldset for your org and revokes the access it was using, so it can no longer act on your behalf. You can re-enable later; you'll pass through the consent step again.

Available fieldsets

The set available to your org is driven by the live catalog and may change over time, so treat Dashboard → Fieldsets as the source of truth. Each fieldset below links to a deep-dive that covers what it does, what it needs, and how to run it:

  • Merchandising — AI product descriptions, FAQ injection, and SEO meta for Shopify, routed through an approval queue before anything is published.
  • AI Visibility Engine — Tracks how your brand shows up across AI answer engines, then generates research-grounded content through a review queue.
  • Website Optimization Agent — Surfaces on-site optimization recommendations from your analytics and search signals, with a human review queue before changes ship.
  • Advertising Agent — Daily cross-channel marketing and SEO briefs drawn from your analytics, ads, and email tools, delivered to Slack.
  • Customer Analytics — Cohort, retention, and lifetime-value analytics for Shopify and Magento brands, blended with acquisition attribution.
  • Competitive Intelligence — Tracks competitor inventory, velocity, and pricing on the products you choose, with a head-to-head dashboard.
  • Cash Flow Forecast — A 13-week rolling cash flow model that learns your GL structure and delivers a reconciled brief.
  • Revenue Forecast — A 13-week rolling revenue and gross-margin forecast for Shopify brands, with per-SKU forecasting and confidence tiers.
  • AP Clerk — Automated accounts-payable bill ingestion, GL coding, and accounting-system entry from emailed invoices, with a review step.

Every fieldset keeps a human in the loop where it matters — most route their output through a review or approval step before anything reaches a live system.

Community fieldsets

Beyond the fieldsets On Belay builds, third-party developers can build their own. Approved community fieldsets appear in a separate Community Fieldsets section on your Fieldsets page, marked with a Community label, and enable through the same requirement check and consent flow.

Billing

On Belay billing is handled through the Shopify App Store using Shopify Managed Pricing, on top of a 14-day free trial. Your base plan covers the platform.

Every fieldset is included in your base plan. There are no per-fieldset, per-publish, or usage charges — including Customer Analytics and Merchandising. Generate, publish, and run fieldsets as much as you need; the only thing you pay for is your plan tier.

See Plans & billing for tier details, or reach out at hello@onbelay.ai with any questions.
